New supermarket company Haldanes Stores has acquired another group of outlets spread throughout England and Wales.
Haldanes Stores has added eight more
property investment acquisitions to its group of outlets spread throughout England and Wales.
The supermarket chain was launched less than two months ago, and this latest
commercial property finance move will expand the firm by 45 per cent, bringing its total number of stores to 26 across the UK.
Commenting on the acquisitions, which are former branches of Co-op and Somerfield stores, Haldanes chairman Arthur Harris guaranteed that all 245 jobs at the branches will be retained.
He added: "We appreciate the role that shops like ours can play in local communities and it's our intention to give something back in return.
"In some ways, we wish to get back to the days when the local store was at the hub of community life."
It comes after the company announced the acquisition of 13 new outlets only last month, with three stores opened in East Lothian, Carluke and Lanarkshire in Scotland.
