Investor commercial property asset financing activity has recovered, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics).
Growth in commercial property transactions globally has signalled a return of
asset financing investor confidence, new research suggests.
Investor
commercial property development finance rose 70 per cent, according to the Royal Institution of Surveyors (Rics) Global Property Survey.
The London office market led the UK
commercial development recovery, while surveyors are confident that emerging economies will lead the recovery in the first quarter of 2010.
Rics chief economist Simon Rubinsohn said: "The improvement in investor appetite is being accompanied by a firmer tone to the rental market.
"This is key to ensuring that the recovery proves sustainable."
In the UK however, there is growing concern that a prolonged and slow economic recovery could lead to a skills shortage across the construction sector, which could impact future projects.
