The Welsh town of Rhyl is to get a major retail development under the Ocean Plaza project.
Scarborough Development Group (SDG) has unveiled an £85 million commercial property development proposals for Rhyl promenade on the site of the town's former funfair.
The Ocean Plaza project was put into doubt after developers Modus Properties went into administration last year, but now a 95,000 sq ft food store, an 80-bedroom hotel and 20,000 sq ft of offices has now been planned for the site.
"We are a new and energetic company backed by great experience and we are delighted to be one of the first companies to make a significant commitment to stepping back into development," said Mark Jackson, managing director of SDG.
The total investment value of the group's completed development is estimated at £200 million, with other sites located in Newport, Greater Manchester and Wigan.
A three-acre site comprising a number of existing retail units in Congleton is also set to be developed by the commercial
property investment group.
