A development study is driving forward the development of a new commercial centre for Chester.
The ongoing
commercial development of Chester has taken another step forward after Chester West and Chester Council commissioned a development study on the eastern side of the city, which may interest those seeking
sources of finance for property development.
GVA Grimley was commissioned by the authorities and Chester Renaissaince to outline plans for a new business district around the train station, which is expected to be completed by the summer.
The next phase of the work will lay out the commercial property options for a new city centre business district, following a full consultation with the public and stakeholders.
"Chester Business Park is fully developed - so we need to fulfil the city's commercial potential elsewhere and believe the area under review is ideal for that purpose," commented councillor Herbert Manley, executive member for prosperity.
Chester Renaissance is also contributing towards the regeneration of Chester Cathedral and plans to create facilities to stage events and a new terrace cafe have been put forward.
