Report highlights recovery of Portuguese commercial property

Jones Lang LaSalle has identified some positive indicators for the Portuguese commercial property market.

People seeking foreign currency mortgages for property investment in Portugal may be interested to learn that the country's commercial market is set for a recovery, according to a report from Jones Lang LaSalle.

In the property investment market, demand is expected to be driven forward by improved access to sources of finance, the return of foreign investors and increased appetite for subscriptions to national funds.

Manuel Puig, managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle Portugal, said that by the end of 2009, the most pessimistic predictions for the market did not materialise.

"The real estate market is not set for a complete recovery in 2010, but the year has started with increasing positive sentiment and all the signs suggest that some sectors will put in a better performance this year compared to last year," he added.

Jones Lang LaSalle has also forecast increased office occupier and investment activity in Nordic real estate markets this year.ADNFCR-2843-ID-19691078-ADNFCR
