The UKCPT has acquired Junction 27 Retail Park in Leeds for £56.6 million.
The UK Commercial Property Trust (UKCPT) has announced the acquisition of Junction 27 Retail Park in Leeds from Henderson Global Investors for a purchase price of £56.6 million, which may interest those seeking
sources of finance for
property investment.
Junction 27 is a bulky goods site of 122,376 sq ft, which was originally developed in 1999 and has housed tenants including DSG Retail, Comet Group, Harveys Furniture Store, TGI Fridays and Furniture Village.
It marks the second significant purchase by the UKCPT in the past few weeks, after acquiring three Shrewsbury shopping centres for £61 million.
Robert Boag, manager of the UKCPT, said: "The latest acquisition increases the portfolio asset base and the UKCPT's exposure to retail warehousing that offers medium to long-term growth prospects."
The trust, which is one of the largest in the UK, recently reported a sharp improvement in earnings for the year to December 31st 2009, seeing a pre-tax profit of £73.14 million.
