A major finance company is looking to launch an open-ended property investment fund for the commercial market.
A leading asset management company is considering the launch of an open-ended fund in the UK commercial
property investment market.
F&C Reit Asset Management currently focus on closed-ended funds, such as F&C Commercial and ISIS Property, but is now considering what opportunities are available for an open-ended offering, according to Citywire.
The move is designed to broaden F&C Reit's investor base, which is traditionally "more institutional", a spokesman for the firm told the publication.
"All of the vehicles managed by F&C Reit that are monitored by the IPD have beat their benchmark. We would like to bring their expertise to a wider market," the spokesman added.
The latest data on the
commercial development market shows that there are signs of post-recession recovery, particularly in London.
Research from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors claims a net balance of 57 per cent of surveyors expect to see a rise in office rents this year in the capital.
