Legal & General to offer advice to commercial property investors

A major commercial property investment firm is to offer specialist advice to those looking to succeed in a recovering yet fragile market.

Commercial property investment managers Legal & General (L&G) will be offering specialist advice on the future of the commercial property market, it has been announced.

Property development firms have slowly been returning to the market following the recession and many have already seen strong capital returns, according to L&G.

In the last 12 months, commercial property has begun to "claw back" some of the significant losses that it made investors in 2008, the company claims.

Yet L&G still believes the UK commercial property market is very fragile, with many investors having to cut costs and place downward pressure on rents.

As a result, Rob Martin, head of property research and strategy at L&G Property is conducting a public briefing to any interested investors at the company's offices on May 5th.

Mr Martin will explain how he believes skilled investors can still make strong returns in a difficult market, L&G confirms.

Earlier this month, economic consultants Capital Economics predicted that the London property market will have a strong year due to rising rental expectations.
