UK businesses urged to make green property investments

UK businesses are being urged to make green energy technology investments across their commercial properties.

Developers should use commercial lending to install environmental technologies in their buildings, according to a leading industry expert.

Ultra Green founder and executive chairman Antony Blakey explained that small changes can have a significant effect on energy and waste efficiency across property investment portfolio buildings.

He said: "You don't have to be Google; Tesco can do it, Sainsburys can do it, anybody can do it right now.

"It's a much more radical approach to run your organisation entirely on green power."

Earlier this month, Google announced plans to heavily invest in two windfarms which will be capable of generating 169.5 megawatts of electricity to boost green energy production across its infrastructure.

Mr Blakey added that windpower can be complemented with a energy waste recycling system, which can enable businesses to supply their own electricity entirely independent of the national grid.

He explained that any company should be capable of making green energy improvements by installing their own technology.
