Favourable conditions in the UK commercial property market will continue to attract foreign investors, particularly to prime London properties.
Foreign
property investment firms will continue to be attracted to property in the UK, particularly prime London assets, it is claimed.
For foreign investors, conditions in the UK are particularly favourable due to the decline of the prevalence of cheap debt and the ability to use interest swaps, according to Andrew Teacher, media manager at the British Property Federation.
He went on to say that London's prime
commercial development projects are a particular prize for wealthy businessmen from abroad.
"It just depends on what is out there but, ultimately, trophy London assets are trophy London assets whether you are in a downturn or not and people will always want to own them," Mr Teacher explained.
His comments come following the release of new research by Jones Lang La Salle, which found that Qatar is likely to be the largest overseas property investor in the world by 2010, with UK property investment opportunities of particular interest.
