New plans to revitalise Hammersmith include many opportunities for commercial development projects, it is claimed.
New plans for a regeneration project in the London borough of Hammersmith show significant capacity for
commercial development.
The local council's development partner for the project is King Street Developments (KSD), a joint venture between
property investment firms Helical Bar Plc and Grainger Plc.
It is hoped that the new plans will draw people down King Street to Hammersmith Broadway, revitalising local businesses along the way.
One of the major changes will be the demolition of the much-maligned extension to Hammersmith Town Hall and the subsequent creation of a new town square.
"This project demonstrates how a public-private partnership can deliver significant investment into architecture and a modern, environmentally efficient scheme, which will benefit all sectors of the community," said councilor Mark Loveday, cabinet member for strategy at the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
Obtaining funding for projects such as this has become easier in recent months, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, as
commercial mortgage lenders have begun to relax their requirements.
