A new property investment fund has been launched, providing a "clean" portfolio of commercial property assets.
F&C has announced it is to launch a new
property investment vehicle, which will provide investors with a "clean" portfolio of direct UK
commercial development assets.
Sales of units in the new F&C UK Property Fund started this week and will run for the next four weeks at a fixed price of 100 pence per unit.
The timing of the fund's creation is designed to coincide with the loss of steam in the UK commercial property market, picking up discounted assets.
Julian Smith of F&C Reit said in a statement: "As the economy slowly recovers, we anticipate the demand for property will increase.
"Given low cash returns, [we] believe that the opportunity cost and yield for commercial property is very attractive."
Investors in another F&C property investment vehicle were recently warned that the proposed merger with Ignis's UK Commercial Property Trust would see the value of their commercial property assets compressed.
