Cumbrian residents are fearing for their homes after the Crown puts an estate up for sale for £4 million.
The Crown has put a Cumbrian estate up for sale, leaving many residents fearing for their homes.
For £4 million, a
property investment firm can obtain many acres of agricultural land along with three farmhouses and six cottages, with the potential for some
commercial development, the BBC reports.
"As a let rural portfolio, the Aldingham Estate has a combination of residential, agricultural and commercial properties, including some traditional buildings, which may be suitable for further development," Gillian Wordsworth from the selling agent SmithsGore told the news provider.
Residents could get a new landlord or be given notice to leave their homes.
One resident told the BBC that it would have been the act of a more caring landlord to give tenants the right to buy their properties.
Earlier this week, Alex Ross, manager of the Premier Pan European Property Share fund, told City Wire that he expected UK commercial property asset values to halt their rise shortly.
