The UK's construction industry is in an "unpredictable" situation and requires assistance from commercial development projects.
Commercial property is to play a key role in the future of the construction industry and as such, in the strength of the economic recovery as a whole.
This is the view of Alex Hawkes, associate editor at Construction News, who noted that the UK construction sector is an "unpredictable" situation.
"What happened was there was quite a lot of government spending before the election and there was quite a lot of work going on to scope out projects as well. But since the election, the cuts have come in," he said.
These public sector cuts has left the construction sector desperately needing
property investment firms to step in with
commercial development projects, Mr Hawkes added.
He went on to say that the future prosperity on the construction industry will be an important factor in the growth of the economy as a whole.
