Warwick commercial development given go-ahead

Plans for new office space at a commercial development site in Warwick have been passed by the local authorities.

A commercial development project in Warwick has been granted permission to create more office space.

Property investment firm Opus Land has confirmed that 260,000 sq ft of offices will be built at the Opus 40 site, the Birmingham Post reports.

The company's managing director Richard Smith told the publication: "The master plan for the new space includes four separate buildings ranging from 30,000 sq ft to 80,000 sq ft in size."

He went on to say, however, that larger design and build requirements exceeding 100,000 sq ft could be accommodated if demand is there, while infrastructural works on the site have already begun.

Last year, one of the existing 90,000 sq ft buildings at the site was sold to Hildane properties, with a purchase price of £14.4 million.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors said recently that tenant demand across the UK commercial property sector has fallen for the first time in a year.
