Fallen commercial development values in the US could see foreign investors moving away from the UK market.
Overseas
property investment firms may look away form the UK when looking for their next
commercial development deals.
According to Cushman & Wakefield, commercial property in the US is currently far better value than in Britain.
This is because values across the Atlantic have fallen much harder and faster than they have here, while a favourable exchange rate means that property investment firms can find some great deals in the US, claims Michael Rydderch, partner at the firm.
"Pricing was held up a little bit in Europe by national investors buying within their own countries, whereas the pull out of capital was much more pronounced in the States," he said.
However, this reflects well on the recovery on the UK market, which is good news for those who already have property investment in Britain.
The latest Savills Commercial Development Activity Index showed that UK activity increased by 0.6 per cent in July, compared to the previous month.
