The buy-to-let property market is booming, creating investment opportunities for landlords.
Activity in the buy-to-let
property investment sector is increasing, according to one industry specialist.
In fact, the sector is performing much better than analysts had predicted two or three years ago, and the market is expected to remain strong for a number of years, according to independent property expert Malcolm Harrison.
This makes property investment in the lettings market a very profitable venture, yet landlords must take a long-term view, Mr Harrison suggests, especially if they are using a
commercial mortgage.
He explained: "At the end of the day if you are going to be a landlord, you want to know you've got tenants.
"You have to take a five or ten year view. In another five or ten years, everything points to the number of tenants continuing to increase."
According to the latest research from LSL Property Services, around one-third of landlords plan to expand their portfolio in the coming months.
