Commercial property tenants want to see more sustainability and more consideration for environmental issues in buildings.
A new survey shows that
commercial development tenants want to see an improvement in sustainability.
According to a poll conducted by the Property Industry Alliance, satisfaction over environmental issues is just 3.5 out of ten among occupiers of commercial property, the FT Adviser notes.
Highest levels of satisfaction related to rent review terms and conditions agreed in leases, with a score of 5.8 out of ten.
"This may be a reflection of current market conditions, as landlords become increasingly responsive to the difficult trading conditions facing their tenants," the Property Industry Alliance chairman John Story told the publication.
The study also shows a disparity in the level of happiness between smaller and larger tenants, with those in smaller
property investment premises feeling more dissatisfied.
Jones Lang LaSalle's director of UK research Stephanie McMahon recently warned that the gap in rental incomes generated by prime and secondary commercial properties is set to increase.
