Property investment offers 'attractive income returns'
UK property investment is still attractive to many investors because of the sources of finance it provides, it has been claimed.

Speaking to Citywire, Ignis UK Property fund manager George Shaw explained that the yields offered by commercial property investors are an important attraction, particularly in London and the south-east of the country.

He told the newspaper: "The focus in our fund is to maintain the income, and the attraction from property is income, combined with the medium-term prospects for capital growth."

However, prospects for investors have not been as good recently.

A recent report published by the Investment Property Databank suggested that capital growth in the UK commercial property market eased to 0.1 per cent in August, its lowest level since last summer.

This is the lowest monthly capital growth uplift recorded in more than six years, although property values have risen by 15.6 per cent in the last 13 months.
